James Patterson

James Patterson, probably the world’s most prolific and bestselling author, was born in March 1947 in New York, USA. Among his works are the Alex Cross, Women’s Murder Club, NYPD Red, Private, Michael Bennett series, as well as many stand-alone thrillers, non-fiction, and romance novels. He also writes books for children. His books have sold more than 425 million copies, and he was the first person to sell 1 million e-books.

He is a great believer in getting children to read and has donated millions of books, millions of dollars and he has established over four hundred Teacher and Writer Education Scholarships at twenty-one colleges and universities throughout the USA. You can find out more about this on his website.

Patterson, his wife, Susan, and their son, Jack, live in Lake Worth Beach in Palm Beach County, Florida. In 2015, Patterson established the James Patterson Pledge with Scholastic Book Clubs to put books in the hands of young readers.
